“The electronic version of MOHOST is a quicker, more effective way of recording the assessments and outlining a treatment program. It helps to clarify the results of the assessment and presents them in a professional manner. Results can be easily interpreted so that the OT can move forward with a suitable plan of intervention. Finally, it provides an easy to understand evidence base to justify interventions.”

Jill Blount, (Learning disabilities)

***Please note: eMOHO version 1 contains version 1.1 of the MOHOST. This is not the most recent version of the MOHOST. A new version of eMOHO version 2.0 is currently in beta testing phase, and expected to be available in Fall 2007. This new eMOHO version will contain the most recent version of several MOHO assessments.

e-MOHO, Version 1 (2004)

e-MOHO is a software package that makes assessment administration, treatment planning, and documentation more efficient and more client centered. The current version of e-MOHO includes one MOHO assessment- the Model of Human Occupation Screening Tool (MOHOST). Within e-MOHO, you can complete the MOHOST electronically.

This electronic documentation and treatment-planning tool also allows therapists to edit the rating criteria of the MOHOST to create initial, progress and discharge assessments for individual clients quickly. Automatic generation of qualitative comments can be easily edited to personalize client reports. e-MOHO can produce two versions of MOHOST final reports, a brief summary form or a detailed narrative.

Within e-MOHO you can also quickly create treatment goals. The system has a master list of goals, which can be customized to reflect goals commonly used in your practice. Once a goal is selected from this list, it can be edited further to better fit the particular client.

e-MOHO is available using both British English and American English.

e-MOHO encourages and reinforces evidence-based therapeutic reasoning and client centered practice by:

  • Allowing the practitioner to customize the software to reflect her/his therapeutic reasoning

  • Allowing each client record to be further customized to fit what is unique about that particular client

  • Storing all the documentation produced within e-MOHO, which can then be retrieved to examine evidence about your own practice.

e-MOHO was designed by clinicians to enhance their practice, and it will continue to evolve in the future to better meet practice needs.

Clinicians purchasing e-MOHO should purchase the MOHOST manual to ensure they are using the MOHOST assessment appropriately. e-MOHO does not include directions regarding the administration of the MOHOST. (Click here to link to MOHOST product information.)

e-MOHO is available in 2 versions:

  • A stand-alone, single user application.

  • A networked version for a multi-user environment such as a clinic with several practitioners, hospital or academic institution.

e-MOHO is distributed under 2 types of licensing agreements:

  • Single practitioner use: Individual clinicians wanting to build a client database consisting only of clients on their caseload should purchase the single user program. This program can be used and accessed only by one clinician. A single practitioner user may install a copy of this program on a maximum of 2 computers: the single clinician's work/clinical computer and a personal/home computer. Only the person for whom this product is licensed to and any students under their direct clinical supervision may use this program. The most appropriate version for a single practitioner is the stand-alone version. This version is available for sale on the MOHO e-store.

  • Educational use: Educational institutions may use the single user application of e-MOHO for use in instruction and curriculum only. This program may be placed on as many institutional computers that students access for learning as needed. The e-MOHO may not be placed on computers owned by students. This version may not be used in practice settings or for any purposes other than educational. This version is available for sale on the MOHO e-store.

Software requirements: Single user e-MOHO requires an operating system of Windows 98 or higher (Windows ME, 2000, XP). If you require a Macintosh version, please contact the clearinghouse at: moho_c@yahoo.com. Educational institutions may consider a networked version or multiple copies of the stand-alone version.

Network versions: Institutions interested in using e-MOHO software on a network system should contact the MOHO Clearinghouse. A networked version allows clinics to generate a central client database that could be accessed by all therapists. For the institution, a networked version afford centralized management, backup and maintenance, as well as tracking clinical outcomes. Interested clinics should contact the MOHO Clearinghouse at: moho_c@yahoo.com.

Purchasing options: e-MOHO can be purchased in two ways:

  • Receiving e-MOHO on CD in the mail.
  • Downloading e-MOHO from the internet.

Please find more information at the MOHO e-store.

The MOHOST assessment is discussed and illustrated with a case in chapter 16 of The Model Of Human Occupation: Theory and Application (Kielhofner, 2002).
